Telling a Local Story with Global Impact: Paul’s Journey

At Pinta, we believe the most powerful stories come from the “everyday” people all around us; our neighbours, co-workers, leaders, parents, friends, and loved ones.

Recently, our Multimedia Team had the privilege of partnering with Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Ringaskiddy, Cork, to bring an extraordinary story to life. One that is both deeply personal and meaningful.

This is Paul’s story

Paul Reidy, based in Cobh, Co. Cork, lives with Multiple Myeloma – a complex and life-changing condition.

His story is truly unique. Paul works for the very company that develops treatments for Multiple Myeloma patients, like himself – Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine.

This dual perspective, as patient and employee, gives the story a rare depth and authenticity. It is a powerful example of patient storytelling and real-life impact

We’re incredibly proud that Paul’s story was featured on the global homepage of the Johnson & Johnson website.

What began in Cork is now reaching a worldwide audience. Highlighting the power of video storytelling and the importance of patient voices in shaping how we understand healthcare.

Bringing the story to life

Led by Emmet Ahern, our Multimedia Team managed the full end-to-end video production process – from the early pre-production stages where the concept and narrative were developed, followed by coordinating a multi-day filming shoot in various locations across Cork, right through to post-production editing, colour and the final touches of sound design and mixing.

From the outset, the goal was clear: to create something honest, inspiring, and emotionally resonant.

This was about authentic storytelling; creating the space for Paul to share his experience in his own words.

We strive to make our contributors feel as comfortable and supported as possible during the filming process. We help them speak openly and confidently, resulting in meaningful video content that connects with audiences on a human level.

At the same time, the project delivered high-quality branded video content for Johnson & Johnson, with a story that resonates both internally and on a global stage.

Why stories like this matter

At its core, this project is a reminder that behind every treatment, every innovation, and every organisation, there are people.

Stories like Paul’s:

  • Humanise complex conditions.
  • Highlight the real-world impact of medical innovation.
  • Build understanding, empathy, and connection.

When combined with thoughtful content production and a clear narrative, these stories can resonate far beyond where they began, reaching global audiences and creating lasting impact and awareness.
