GE Healthcare Cork is part of the General Electric family of businesses. GE first established a presence in Ireland over three decades ago. Since then the company has grown steadily in Ireland and over the past decade that growth has accelerated through a series of acquisitions. Today, GE employs some 2,200 people across 19 businesses located throughout the country. Between them, GE businesses in Ireland contributed over 120 million euro annually to the Irish economy, while serving some 200,000 customers worldwide from this base.
In 2013, the leadership team in Carrigtwohill populated a dedicated business transformation team to assist the facility in Carrigtwohill to deliver on its preferred future within the GE group. The team have developed a comprehensive roadmap for the site to deliver on its potential over the next three years.
To assist the business transformation process, an operational framework was required as a governance model. This supports the efficient delivery of all components of the programme.
There was also a requirement to proactively engage with all of the constituencies within the site to ensure that the programme and its importance is understood and embraced by all of the teams on the site.
Pinta assisted the leadership team to develop a framework to manage and co-ordinate the delivery of the site transformation strategy and to proactively manage additional cross functional projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
“In my role as CEO of GE Healthcare, I worked with Peter Hanan as part of a one on one support engagement. Peter gave me a different point of view and his unique ability to recognise, understand, and explain complex business relationships has challenged my thinking, and most importantly, my actions. He has assisted me in optimising my performance in my leadership role and I would highly recommend his coaching services to any other senior leader”
Paschal McCarthy, Site Leader, GE Cork.
